Yields: 1 Serving


Ingredients

2 Tablespoons Oil
1/2 Cup Chopped Onion finely chopped
14 Ounces Whole Tomatos pureed
6 Ounces Tomato Paste
2 Teaspoons Basil
2 Teaspoons Sugar
1 Teaspoon Salt
Ground Pepper


 
Instructions
In large saucepan, heat oil and cook onions over moderate heat until soft. Add the remaining ingredients. Reduce heat to very low and simmer with pan partially covered, for 30 minutes. Stir occasionally.

======= Assembling Cannelloni ===================


Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Place a tablespoon of filling on the bottom third of the pasta rectangles and roll them up.


Pour just a fill of tomato sauce on the bottom of 2 -- 9 X 13 bake and serve dishes. Lay the cannelloni side by side in one layer only on the tomato sauce.


Pour the besciamella over it and spoon the rest of the tomato sauce over it. Scatter grated parmesan cheese and dot with butter.


Bake uncovered on the middle shelf of the oven for 20 minutes, or until cheese is melted and sauce is bubbling. Slide the baking dishes under a top broiler for 30 seconds if more browning is desired.
